Teaching
The primary goal of teaching is to cultivate critical thinking skills among students, nurturing their ability to analyze global issues through intersectional frameworks that attend to race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, caste, and nation. I categorize my teaching into three aspects to cultivate a trusting learning environment: (1) creating the circumstances for students to feel comfortable sharing their perspectives across multiple forms of difference, (2) designing syllabi and course plans that allow students to critically engage with the course materials and put into practice the various types of theory or knowledge production that we learn about in a course, and (3) connecting theory to lived experience, helping students understand how abstract concepts illuminate everyday life and guide social action. Samples of Syllabi are available on request.

Selected Student Feedback
“Love how much variation there was in the material we studied. I also enjoyed the willingness to be flexible and change the course topics to better suit our interests relating to the topic. The atmosphere was very supportive and encouraging around understanding the topic.”
Student, POL 2096: Global Gender Politics
“One of the most valuable parts of this course is how you were able to learn about global issues and how they all tend to connect to each other. The professor goes over so many different types of information about gender and how they not just affect women but other genders as well.”
Student, WGS 2096: Global Gender Politics
“I was able to understand the material, and then reflect back on what I had learned throughout the week with the weekly reflection assignment.”

Undergraduate Research Mentorship Experience
Apart from teaching courses within SPIA and WGSS at University of Cincinnati, I have extensive experience designing, leading, and institutionalizing undergraduate research mentorship frameworks and academic professionalization programs. As a Graduate Assistant with the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) at the University of Cincinnati (2021 - 2024) I built a university-wide Graduate-Undergraduate Mentor-Mentee Program, creating an active network that paired over 200 undergraduate researchers with graduate student mentors across disciplines. I also co-organized Undergraduate Scholarly Showcase (with Dr. MK Lamkin), providing space for undergraduate student researchers to showcase their ongoing and completed research through posters, and presentations. I also co-created various programs during my time at OUR which focused on introducing research to undergraduate students, led collaboration with various centers (eg. Taft Research Center, Digital Futures), departments, and programs (McNair, Honors, and Protégé) as well as organizations (eg. Student Governments, Student Activities Leadership Board). I co-lead and co-instruct the Summer Learning Community for Undergraduate Researchers, organized in collaboration with Langsam Library (2022–2026), where I have co-developed hybrid curricula focusing on building professional skills to support them through their research program. In the process, I have mentored 10 undergraduate students through various research projects.
For my sustained leadership in expanding access and supporting student success, I was honored with the 2026 Graduate Excellence Award for Advancement of Inclusion in Academia.
